Sustainable Development Policy

Qidian Marketing Co., Ltd. adopted the requirements under the Sustainable Development Principles and ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Management Systems as the basis for sustainable development during the planning, organizing, and execution periods of site activities and relevant activities. By implementing the policy, we hope to gain maximum benefits for the sustainable development of activities under the support of maximum resources, on the basis of fair participation, the principle of good faith, transparency and disclosure, and sustainable management responsibility.

  Our Commitments

◼️ Comply with sustainability-related laws and regulations, as well as other requirements, during the execution period        of integrated marketing services.

◼️ Establish and implement the sustainability goals of sites, and continue to improve by applying the PDCA model to         improve sustainability performance.

◼️ Formulate workflows that comply with the sustainable site management systems, and implement such workflows.

◼️ Train staff and encourage suppliers and subcontractors to improve their recognition of sustainable activities and            assume the responsibility of sustainable development.

◼️ Strengthen local networks and community connections, and actively communicate with stakeholders, to promote          the Company’s sustainable development concept.

Sustainable Development Principles and Value

The Company complies with the requirements under the Sustainable Development Principles and ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Management Systems to serve as the indicators for the planning, execution, and organization of relevant activities, to ensure sustainable development during activities. We adhere to fair participation, the principle of good faith, transparency and disclosure, and sustainable management responsibility, and pursue maximum benefit brought by sustainable development of activities with the support of maximum resources.

​Our Actions

According to “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs," the “sustainable development” spirit under the ISO20121 International Standard, ensures the event will utilize maximum resources to carry out sustainable management operations of integrated marketing services, and facilitate positive effects on the environment, society, and economy, and improve sustainable development effects at the site.

 

The most significant sustainable development principles for activities during execution are as follows:

Fair participation

Identify all stakeholders of activities, including employees of the Company, government agencies, customers, tourists, suppliers, social communities, local communities, and locations of tourist attractions, to ensure that they have channels for sufficient communication and consultation, respect their rights to participate in site activity, and provide necessary services.

 

Principle of good faith

Apart from requiring our staff to comply with environmental protection, occupational safety and health, human rights protection, fire safety, traffic safety, food safety, intellectual property, consumer protection, personal privacy, and other applicable regulations and requirements, the Company adopts a professional, unbiased, and ethical attitude to carry out its activity management and operations.

Transparency and disclosure

We ensure that all stakeholders can obtain information related to the execution of the activity, including the work specifications of employees, contracts with suppliers, and information requirements of participants or people concerned with the activity, and any changes in the information will be obtained and communicated promptly.

Management responsibility

We adopt training and promotion to ensure that the Company’s staff and suppliers recognize the responsibility of site sustainability, including the adoption of preventive measures during the planning stage, to reduce the effects of issues on the environment and impacts on local culture. The application of management procedures to carry out legal and effective management of issues that will be affected during the execution period of site activities, and encouraging and affecting the establishment of a sustainable supply chain are also addressed in the planning phase.

Regarding the lifecycle of sustainable sites, the Company will identify issues related to sustainable development, formulate its sustainable development policy, and apply it for management to improve the performance of the following sustainable development values:




Promote the concept of sustainable sites

 

Implement waste reduction and spare no effort in minimizing unnecessary resource consumption
 

Support local procurement and prioritize products or services with local, natural, or cultural features

Support environmentally friendly procurement, and prioritize suppliers, products, or services that comply with sustainability standards

 
Support the social and economic development of local communities, and create distinctive events and services


Value safety and health during the course of activities

 

The Company will identify the sustainability performance indicators for different activities, set goals, and integrate the sustainability development management system and event planning to ensure that sustainable development issues can be identified and effectively managed, and, in turn, fulfill the sustainable development goals of the Company.

Environmental aspect

Low-carbon sites:

①Use reduction

Use less paper: Adopt digital methods for print materials and check-in tickets for activities, and use recycled paper for papers that are required to be used.

② Reuse (same purposes)

1. Ban disposable tableware and adopt reusable tableware

2. Rent equipment and tools to reduce the waste of disposable devices.

➂Recycle and reuse (recycle for other purposes or remaking of new items required; be aware of source reduction and avoid “doing it for the sake of doing”):

Select recyclable materials (i.e., using building materials from activity sites in other activities).

 

Promote environmental education:

① Pay attention to river basin recovery issues and cooperate with Taiwan BlueMagpie Tea in creating design thinking programs for students, to allow students to learn relevant content at sites.

② Convey issues related to environmental education to society and the public through edutainment.

Social aspect

Promote sustainable value

① Promote the philosophy of sustainable activities: Include the discussion and description of the philosophy for sustainable activities in external marketing or exposure channels.

② Provide premium sustainability activity services: Establish a participant opinion system to collect feedback and opinions on sustainable practices of activities, and use them in improving future organizing strategies.

 

Facilitate diversity and inclusion to allow the expression of traditional art and cultural values

① Ethnic diversity and local inclusion: Combine diverse cultures with special activities and utilize digital and physical methods to lower the entry threshold, allowing more stakeholders to take part in great events, and making the cities more inclusive.

② Inheritance of special cultures in Taiwan

We care about traditional cultures. The craft industry focuses on the foundation of traditional cultures to serve as the ideas for designs. By supporting local crafts, we support the craft industry and companies in Taiwan to exert more influence.

 

Chain of kindness

Cooperate with public welfare groups: Organize collaborative public welfare actions: Donate income to public welfare groups and invite citizens to jointly participate in the charity bazaar, fundraising, and handicraft sessions.

Economic aspect

Strengthen Connection to Local Economies|Local Procurement × Local Employment:

① Prioritize local suppliers and products of local area farmers in Taiwan to strengthen the resilience of local economies and the circular economy system.

② Prioritize the employment of local residents, middle-aged and senior citizens, and women of a second career, to create short-term work opportunities and inclusive employment.

 

Encourage youth to participate in talent cultivation:

① Provide internships and practicing sites to introduce youth to sustainable and practical actions.

② Provide stable paid internship programs annually to assist young people in career transition.

Implement responsible procurement (green × public welfare):

① Prioritize products with environmental labels, carbon footprint, or green certifications.

② Select brands of public welfare groups, social enterprises, or regional revitalization for festival gifts and giveaways.

Strengthen the supplier management system:

① Establish a list of sustainable suppliers, and an evaluation system. Regularly review supply chain risks, and include the environmental and social responsibility acts of suppliers to serve as the basis for selection and contract renewal.

② Encourage suppliers to sign and return the <Sustainable Supplier Commitment>.
